MVJ College of Engineering organizes the sports events in the memory of Founder Chairman, Dr. M V Jayaraman, every year. “15th Dr. M V Jayaraman Memorial Inter-Collegiate Leather Ball Cricket Tournament 2018”.
Mr. Abdul Ahad, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Whitefield division, Bengaluru city and Dr. N. Gunasekaran, Principal, MVJCE, in the presence of Mr. Hari Hegde, PRO, MVJCE have inaugurated the tournament at the college campus.
The following teams have participated in the event

4. Ramaiah University
5. Alliance University
6. AMC College of Engineering
7. Sir. M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology
8. Oxford College of Engineering
9. Bangalore Technological Institute
10. MVJCE Juniors
The Matches were held at Athena Sports, Varthur-Balagere road, Bengaluru, in the presence of Mr. Naveen Bala A, Sports Coordinator, MVJCE and Mr. Jagadeesha P Naik, PED, MVJCE. The knock-out matches were conducted by the umpires, Mr. Manish Kumar, Mr. Kiran Kumar, Mr. N M Venugopala and Mr. Mahesh Babu N M.
The Semifinals and Final matches were conducted and the teams reached the semifinals are, MVJ College of Engineering, New Horizon College of Engineering, Alliance University and AMC College of Engineering.
The Final match was between MVJ College of Engineering and New Horizon College of Engineering. The toss won by New Horizon College of Engineering and elected to Bat first and scored 97 runs by losing all wickets. They set a target of 98 runs and MVJ College of Engineering has chased successfully by losing 04 wickets and with 10 balls to bowl.
MVJ College of Engineering has become the Champions of “15th Dr. M V Jayaraman Memorial Inter-Collegiate Leather Ball Cricket Tournament 2018”.
The Valediction function was held at Athena Sports, Varthur-Balagere road. Dr. N Gunasekaran, Principal, MVJCE, distributed the runner trophy and cash prize of Rs. 5,000 along with the certificates to New Horizon College of Engineering and also the winner trophy and cash prize of Rs. 10,000 along with the certificates to MVJ College of Engineering.
