The following measures have been announced as Cyclone Fengal approaches the Tamil Nadu coast:

Holidays for Educational Institutions: Schools and colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Kallakurichi districts will remain closed. The government has instructed that no special classes or exams be conducted during this time.
