Flight operations at Chennai Airport were disrupted on Wednesday due to heavy rains. A Delhi-Chennai IndiGo flight carrying 152 passengers was unable to land and had to return to Bangalore due to adverse weather conditions.
The flight, scheduled to arrive at Chennai Domestic Airport at 10 AM, faced challenges as poor visibility and rain hindered a safe landing. Following this, the pilot contacted the Chennai airport control room and was instructed by air traffic officials to divert the flight back to Bangalore.
Additionally, flights such as Chennai-Delhi and Mangalore-Chennai were delayed due to the weather conditions. The IndiGo flight, which was supposed to depart from Chennai to Delhi at 10:45 AM, has been rescheduled to depart after 1 PM. This has left 148 passengers stranded at the Chennai Domestic Airport, awaiting their revised travel arrangements.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as heavy rains continue to impact transportation and other services in the region.
