Special Camp in Chennai for Senior Citizens to Enroll in Ayushman Bharat Yojana
A special camp exclusively for senior citizens aged 70 and above will be held in Chennai on December 16 and 17 to facilitate enrollment in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana medical insurance scheme.
The Ayushman Bharat Yojana, introduced by the Central Government, provides free medical insurance coverage of up to ₹5 lakh, aimed at ensuring healthcare for economically disadvantaged groups. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an extension of the scheme to include special medical insurance benefits for elderly citizens.
As part of this initiative, the Central Government is organizing special camps nationwide to assist eligible beneficiaries in joining the scheme. In Chennai, the camp will take place at Srimati Narayani Ammal Kalyana Mandapam, Mandaivelly Jet Nagar, from 11 AM to 5 PM on the designated dates.
Senior citizens wishing to enroll must bring their Aadhaar card and a mobile phone linked to their Aadhaar for registration.
This camp offers a valuable opportunity for elderly citizens to secure essential health coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
