Removing 23,803 Placards & Registering 26,000 Violation Cases - Chennai Corporation
As per the compliance with the election exemplar system, the corporation has been eliminating the colossal cutouts of political chiefs, the placards of their parties which have been lined the streets and expunging the graffiti with whitewash hiding, in order to make the Chennai brighter with less chaos.
We have been removed about 23, 803 placards on Thursday, which defy the
election code for the past ten days, stated by the Corporation officials.
Adding to it, via the public helpline number (18004257012) which has been set for the public complaints for election-linked queries, the Corporation and district collectorate indexed more than 26,000 violations cases.
The work force of the civic body has wrapped few giant cutouts with white
cloth. The confiscation of the signpost that impinged on the footpaths and stance
a threat to motorists by hindering on their vision, have been over welcomed by
the public.
The state political parties have constantly sullied the orders by the Supreme Court and Madras high court that expelled the signposts.
The authorities should entail intense fines on parties that illicitly put up banners and posts; and the parties have to pay the fine to clear up the mess without involving taxpayers` currency, says the Naresh Kumar, a resident of Anna Nagar.
