Anna University counselling for engineering seats is likely to start on July 31.
This year the number of engineering seats will see a slight drop with four engineering colleges in the State out of counselling.
Around 1.75 lakh seats with 570 engineering colleges will be available for counselling this year. According to sources with the university, the application forms for the engineering seats will be mostly likely be out in the first week of May.
Out of the total 1.75 lakh seats up for counselling, 2,365 (including 80 B Arch ) seats are from the four Anna university colleges and 5,340 from Anna University constituent colleges. Government and government aided colleges account for 6,390 seats (including 80 B Arch seats).
Apart from this, the Central Electrochemical Research Institute, Karaikudi and the Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET) account for 160 seats. The rest of the about 1.6 lakh seats will be in self-financing colleges.
