Supreme Court directives today morning have given a severe blow to the Central Government of India. The Supreme Court on Monday restrained the government and the UIDAI from sharing Aadhar card information with any agency or a third party without the consent of the card holder.
A bench led by Justice B S Chauhan also reiterated its earlier order saying no person will be denied any service or benefits for want of an Aadhar card. The bench ordered the government to direct various departments to issue circulars in this regard.
The court said it required to pass the order since it was receiving plethora of complaints over denial of services for want of Aadhar card. The UIDAI had come to the apex court against a Goa court’s order to share information with the CBI to solve a 14 months’ old gang rape case wherein accused are yet to be apprehended.
