During ‘Kochadayan’ audio launch event, Rajnikanth shared his interest on ‘Raja-Rani’ stories and films stating, stories starting with ‘oru oorula oru raja irundharu’ always engage me. This indirectly implies that superstar is fond of period films.
Rewinding his past roles, he has performed in various period films – as king krishnadevaraya in Anbulla Rajnikanth, as Sri Raghavendra in the film Sri Raghavendra, as king Vettaiyan in Chandramuki and now, it’s the turn for yet another such role with Kochadayan. In this movie, he acts in dual roles – as father and son, both as warriors. They struggle to save the lives of fellow people.
It is now said that the actor will take up a similar role in his next project planned with K.S. Ravikumar. In this film, he will be portrayed as a man born in 20th century. Anushka is said to play the female lead character. Additionally, Rajnikanth will also play a present day character for which another heroine will be paired with, probably Sonakshi Sinha. It is scheduled for commencement on April 20 in Mysore.
