Do you profess, ‘I cannot go hopping from shop to shop to buy things that I need. I will buy only on ‘on-line’! There are possibilities of some mistakes to happen during your ‘on-line’ purchase! Here is a list of ideas how to prevent those mistakes from happening.

Mistakes

  • Check the website dependability. Buy only if it is website with credentials and proven performance. Otherwise, there are chances that the items bought by you to be stolen.
  • If you order from browsing centres, there is a possibility of ‘screen-capturing’ devices being installed or some software that enables to know your password or credit card numbers. So, avoid ordering items from browsing centres.
  • Check the rules and regulations reading thoroughly before ordering. Some ‘Apps’ may sell your personal data to some consultancy firms. These apps can share your mobile number, e-mail ID, and credit card number.
  • SO, thoroughly read the terms and conditions. If you have to file a case regarding stolen personal information, the concerned website may escape by showing your agreement to the terms & conditions!

How to prevent?

  • If you find the terms & conditions to be unsatisfactory, do NOT order.
  • Unless it is totally unavoidable, do not order things from a browsing centre. If it is a ‘must’, change your password immediately after the purchase.
  • The browser has the details of the websites visited and the history. This can be deleted and by doing so, your password, credit card number, etc. will also be deleted.
