Since Monday, the Chennai district election office brings up to date information of the poll expenditure in its election portal: http://election.chennaicorporation.gov.in/electionmis/login.jsp
These details furnished in the portal have been given by the contesting candidates in the Lok Sabha election.
Nearly 12 candidates of the Chennai Central electorate have started succumbing poll expenses details on the portal daily.
The contender details comprise S.R. Vijaya Kumar of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Dayanidhi Maran of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and J. Prabhakar of Aam Aadmi Party.
There are totally about 102 candidates in the dispute for the poll in three Lok Sabha electorates across the Chennai city.
Few contenders along with their election expenses also included their expenses on the posters, which are debarred in the poll campaigns.
Most of the contender’s expenditures relate to brochures, stickers, street meetings, band services, party meetings, alternative media centres and light fixtures.
Mapping of about 3,337 polling stations has been done by the district election office and electors can also ensure the location of their polling station by visiting the Web portal.
This poll portal will be worded to convey training and communication with student volunteers who Webcast the elections. The training commences on Monday and around 1,000 students gave their active participation, said an official.
