Set of Schools – Snubs RTE Quota Admissions
On Monday, the TamilNadu nursery, primary, matriculation and higher secondary schools sorority, declared that they will not take up the admission of the student under the 25% quota which has been consented by Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
They are demanding the school education department to settle the past two year’s admission fee.
As per the RTE act, we are issuing admissions for the students under the 25% quota and had opened the bank accounts for fee reimbursements. But we didn’t receive the amount till now, since past two years, said K.R. Nandakumar, secretary of the association.
Usually by May 3, we will start issuing the admission forms for the quota seats in the State, he added. This association has around 10,000 schools as its members
In Tamil Nadu, the amount to be repaid is either the fee preset by the government-agreed confidential fee fortitude committee for the school or the amount exhausted by the government for every child, whichever is minor.
This 25 % seats must be non-flexible and should not be given up for the common category, says A. Narayanan, activist.
As per the department official accounts, nearly 50,000 students have been admitted in the State over the 25 % RTE act quota in the academic year 2013-14.
