Not only the number of applications bought by the students in terribly low, even the count of the submitted applications for MBBS admission has descended for about 1700, when compared with the academic year of 2013.

When linked to the count of accepted applications during 2012, the number has vanished down by 17%. Currently, for the MBBS admission, under the prevailing single-window counseling program, about 27, 876 filled up applications forms have been received so far.

This scenario is not shocking at all, but evidently there is an intention why there is a decline in the count of forms acquired, particularly when it had been rising annually till 2012, said an official of the Directorate of Medical Education.

Actually, the wide spread belief behind the lower count of the applications being receives is that since the cut-off mark is expected to be significantly elevated this year.

And there prevails a slight hurry to put forward the application forms on Monday. Nearly 5254 applicants panicked it out at most of the Government Medical Colleges to make sure that their forms have been reached before the closing date.

According to the report, only about 30,380 application forms for MBBS have been sold out during this academic year of 2014.
