The consumption of electricity is increasing day by day in Tamil Nadu. The state is facing shortage of power over the recent years. State government is implementing various projects in order to raise the production of electricity. The number of connections for individual homes are going up which constitute largest segment in power sector. While the need for industries is growing every year, TNEB is primitively concerned about the subsidies and the state government has reimbursed Rs 4,917.99 Crores to it.
However, government is mainly concerned about the power subsidies on residential and commercial buildings. Experts are working out plans in order to reduce them. The Tamil Nadu Assembly recently passed a bill in assembly to make changes in subsidy policies. This will help for avoiding loss of revenues and other problems. The recent years and recent hike in power bills will improve the conditions further. As industrial connections are increasing every year, it is necessary to take a right decision. The government is taking more steps to control shortage of power. Finally, everyone should focus on saving electricity to get desired results.
