Hearing for Jayalalitha’s bail petition is on at Bangalore court now.
Ram Jetmalani a renowned Indian lawyer and politician is by side of Jayalalitha and requested to considered Jayalalitha’s case as a high priority one. This anyway was denied and Karnataka High Court Judge Chandrasekar said the case will be taken for hearing as per existing order of petitions.
Jayalalitha’s petition is now being heard as the 73rd case; senior lawyer Ram Jetmalani and P.Kumar are arguing in support of her. Pavan Singh speaks on behalf of the government. Rule 144 is announced in areas in and around the Karnataka High Court.
The case:
Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalitha was charged 4 years jail and penalty of Rs 100 crore for disproportionate assets case filed against her. She was complained for the exorbitant assets she had worth Rs 66.44 crore.
Jayalalitha, Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran are the four who were convicted in the assets case.
