TN receives 45k plus applications for document replacement

The Tamil Nadu Government has received about 45,661 applications requesting for certificates and important documents that they have lost in the recent Chennai floods. As per an official release made by the government, it is mentioned that they have issued acknowledgment for 45,661 applications of lost documents at the camps organized specially at the 10 taluk offices from 14th December till 27th.
 
On the last day, the 27th December alone, there were 1336 applications received by the government. This is a clear indication of the extent to which the recent floods has caused damage.
 
Request for replacement documents is received by the departments including
  • Revenue department
  • School education
  • Registration department
  • Transport
  • Civil supplies
  • Chennai Corporation
  • Census department
  • Public sector banks
  • Oil companies
  • Welfare of differently-abled persons department
  • Employment exchange

These special camps were organized by the government so as to replace all the important documents like ration cards, land records, bank passbook, passport, LPG connection cards, Aadhar cards, Voter id card, school and college certificate, etc all of which are lost during recent floods
