IT Raid at Saravana Stores, Chennai

Officials of the Income-Tax Department raided Saravana and Saravana Selvarathnam group of stores in the city, following complaints of alleged tax evasion. Sources in the Income Tax Department said the raids, which began at 8 am.
The raids are being conducted at over 12 stores, some production houses and godowns in T Nagar and a recently opened store in Purasawalkam belonging to the Saravana Stores and Saravana Selvarathnam group of stores. Separate teams also searched seven residences in the city of the owners of the two groups.
