The recently formed low-pressure zone over the Bay of Bengal has drifted towards the North and presently located at 110 km east of Visakhapatnam. This depression is expected to clear the coast in the Northern Andhra and Odisha coasts. Subsequently, the low-pressure zone will weaken gradually.

Only if new low-pressure zone forms, Tamil Nadu can hope for good rains.
As there is a recently formed thermal convection phenomenon, there are prospects of rain with thunder in a few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the next 24 hours.
Chennai will remain partly cloudy. There are prospects of rain in a few places.
