There will be an increase in tollgate charges in 17 tollgates in Tamil Nadu from 1st April. There are national Highways of about 5000 km length in the state of Tamil Nadu. There are 46 tollgates set up in these highways to collect tollgates charges from the vehicles that pass along these routes.
The National Highways Authority of India has granted approval to revise the tollgate charges once a year. Accordingly, an increase in the tollgate charges will be implemented from 1st April in 17 tollgates at various locations in Tamil Nadu.
The tollgates are:
Tindivanam-Aathur, Madurai-Bhoodhakkudi, Trichy-Chittampatti, Tirunelveli-Kattur Circle, Kappalur, Nanguneri, Kovai- Kaniyur, Krishnagiri, Sivagangai-Lakhman patti, Lembalakkudi, Vellore-Pallikonda, and Vaniyambadi.
Further, tollgate charges are to be revised upwards in the tollgates at Kanchipuram-Paranur, Thiruvallur-Pattarai Perumpudhur, S V Puram, Pudhukkottai-Vagaikkulam, and Thoothukkudi-Salaipudhur.
The tollgate charges are up by a minimum of Rs. 5 to a maximum of Rs. 20. The monthly charges are to be revised upwards by over Rs. 100.
