The Cricket Administrator, AC Muthiah and his achievements

Annamalai Chidambaram Muthiah was born in the year 1941 to Mr. M. A. Chidambaram, a well-known Cricket Administrator and Industrialist. AC Muthiah had his early education in Chennai (then Madras) with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Guindy College of Engineering. Then he completed his Master’s Degree in the University of Detroit. After the completion of the course he was into the family business.

AC Muthiah was the only son of M. A. Chidambaram, with a sister called Seetha. AC Muthiah followed the path of his father and was a Cricket Enthusiast doing versatile business and administration operations in and around the game of Cricket on national level. From 1999 to 2001 he served as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

AC Muthiah is the Chairman-Emeritus of Southern Petrochemical Industries Limited (SPIC) and also the chairman for SVCE-Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering Chennai. After the demise of his father in the year 2000, AC Muthiah took the complete charge of his father’s company SPIC and also served as a Managing Director for Standard Motors.  He is the current Director of Tamil Nadu Petro Products Limited and SPEL Semiconductor Ltd. He was also the member of Executive Council of ICC (International Cricket Council).

With the organization called MAC Trust AC Muthiah groups encourage the contribution of individuals excelling in fine arts and literature.
