People in Chennai have been experiencing cool climate in the last 2 days and the maximum temperatures in Chennai on Wednesday 23rd May, Thursday 24th May, were 35.2 degrees which was 2.9 degrees below normal and 35.6 degrees which was 2.5 degrees below normal. The temperature fell down to 33 degrees on Thursday noon and later it increased to 35.6 degrees around 2 pm. Maximum temperature of 35.6 degrees has been predicted for Friday 25th May.
Popular weather blogger Mr. Pradeep John spoke about how the weather system formed over the Bay of Bengal would intensify further and proceed towards Myanmar. This would not bring rains in Chennai but would create cloud formation.
The prediction is by the end of May month, the southwest monsoon might set over Kerala. Heavy rainfall would occur in the districts bordering Kerala and Karnataka after the onset. Spell of light rain might also be possible and it would be due to daytime heat and availability of moisture would trigger this.
