DigiYatra is the scheme in which air ticket booking and travel are entirely made paper free operations. Airports Authority of India (AAI) commenced the trail verifications of this latest paperless scheme for both domestic and international travels from Chennai Airport.
DigiYatra scheme was announced by the ministry of civil aviation developed primarily for ensuring easy and quick procedures for airport ticketing and proofing. Sir Sewa portal operates this facility and acts as a bridge between passengers, airlines and airport agencies.
Many complaints are recorded and files in terms of long queues in immigration procedures taking long hours to complete before the take-off of the flights. E-gates opening up for this digital communication of ticketing and immigration boarding can enhance the authentication speed for flights. Using unique identification method the paperless verification operated through the agencies of Airport can reduce the last minute chaos in the checking counters. Bengaluru and Hyderabad successfully completed the trial verification of ticketing and boarding procedures entirely on a digital platform without any manual paper bodies.
