Ooty or Udhagamandalam is highly popular place in the state of Tamil Nadu. This Ooty gets lots of visitors during the summer season is well known. The cool climate combined with superb greeneries in Ooty have been the source of attraction here and people go to this Ooty with their families to enjoy. Ever since it was opened in the year 1847, the botanical garden in Ooty has been attracting many people. This botanical garden is maintained by Tamil Nadu Horticultural Department.
The latest news is a second botanical garden would soon be making its presence felt in Ooty on 80 acres of land. This was announced by the state government recently. The major objective of this second botanical gardens is to make more people visit this place.
On Thursday, 14th June 2018, the chief minister of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswami surprised many in the assembly when he spoke about how the second botanical garden would be set up in 80 acres of land at the Queen of hill stations or Ooty. He later spoke about how an amount of Rs 10 crores would be spent for setting up of 200th year Evergreen Grassland at the hill station. It is important to mention here that the chief minister of TN made the statement under Rule 110 in the Assembly House.
Due to the huge crowd visiting the present botanical garden in Ooty, a new botanical garden would be started soon here. This was confirmed by the chief minister. Rose Park in Ooty is visited by over 10 lakh people in a year and this has resulted in the lack of space for parking the vehicles.
It is now revealed that a parking space would be constructed at an amount of Rs 3 crores here. This upcoming parking space could accommodate as many as 500 vehicles.
