Monsoon axis hits Himalayas, west coast / ghat rains reduce while Thunderstorms return to interior Tamil Nadu

When the monsoon axis hits Himalayas only the areas around Himalayas, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand North eastern India gets good rains and down south Tamil Nadu gets its share of rains too from thunderstorms.

With weak monsoon, the non monsoon areas such as Madurai, Virudhunagar, Coonoor, Mettupalayam, Erode, Delta region in Thanjavur, Kumabakonam belt, Pudukottai, Sivaganga., Trichy, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Namakkal, Karur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Salem, Tiruvannamali, Villupuram and nearby areas will get rains.
Chennai has to wait for one more day, as most of the conditions looks favorable around Delta belt and the interiors today.
Mettur Dam - Inflow to jump again

The inflow has fallen below 1500 cusecs but the water from Kabini will reach Mettur tonight / tomorrow making the inflow rise to around 20,000 cusecs.
