IRCTC (Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation) has planned to introduce additional features and facilities including providing vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items in selected Rajdhani and Duronto Express trains from 15th July.
There have been regular harsh complaints from the passengers that the quality of the food served on the trains is rather very poor. As a solution to solve this issue, IRCTC has planned to introduce some bold changes in the system.
In the 1st Phase, these changes would be implemented in 11 Rajdhan and 14 Duronto trains. As per this, a new App, adopting AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology, to be called ‘Menu on Rails’, is set to be introduced.
Arrangements are being made so that the passengers have the facility to watch the food preparations. The train passengers will be served with a variety of vegetarian dishes and boneless chicken and other items for the non-vegetarians will be served along with a sanitizer for cleansing the hands.
Plates made of the biodegradable material in place of plastic plates, the system of packing the food in air-tight packages will be introduced. The serving and other staff would be given new uniforms. Etiquette training will be imparted to the staff to interact with the passengers.
