Be careful when taking these medicines as they could create depression

These days many health issues affect us and most of us take medicines when we get health issues. Not many know the fact that there are some medicines that could result in depression in us. It is said that depression is the potential side effect of some commonly consumed medicines.

These below mentioned commonly used drugs could cause depression. So be careful while taking these medicines.

Omeprazole:

It is a proton pump inhibitor and is one of the commonly used medicines. Gastroesophaegal reflux diseases or GERD could be treated by this omeprazole. Peptic ulcers in us could be overcome by this medicine. This medicine could result in depression in us and this has been confirmed by a study. So be careful.

Metoprolol:

High BP plus many heart ailments could be treated by this metoprolol is well known. This is a beta blocker. It must be noted that in the study conducted in 2016 those who consumed the medicines that had beta blockers showed depression in them.

Ethinyl Estradiol:

This is present in many hormonal birth control pills plus menopausal symptoms in women could be treated by using this medicine. In BMJ was published a study and according to that study use of this medicine could lead to depression in elderly women.

Hydrocodone:

Not many know that this hyrocodone which is an opioid analgesic could also result in the depression. This medicine is usually taken orally.

Alprazolam:

This medicine is used by many of us and is a benzodiazepine anxiolytic drug. Panic disorders and anxiety issues could be treated by this drug.  This drug could also cause depression issues in us.

Gabapentin:

Partial seizures, neuropathic pain, hot flashes etc could be treated effectively by this gabapentin drug is known. This is sold under the brand name Neurontin and is taken orally. Sleepiness and dizziness are common side effects of this drug. It is worthy to mention that some serious side effects of this drug are increase in suicidality, depression etc.

Atenolol:

It was in 1976 this drug was first introduced and it belongs to beta blocker class. High BP, angina, acute myocardial infarction, ventricular tachycardia etc could be treated with this medicine. Consuming this medicine could result in depression.
