According to a new study, taking a lot of fishes and foods with very high omega-3 fatty acids will bring down the overall risk of cancer and heart ailments.
A study was conducted where 2,40,729 men and 1,80,580 women were continuously observed for a period of 16 years. Out of this 54,230 men and 30,882 women died.
The study results state that consuming a lot of fishes and omega-3 rich foods has direct impact on the mortality rate.
Men who consume a lot of fishes will have 9 percent lesser mortality and 10 percent lesser cardiovascular disease mortality. Death out of cancer was also 6 percent lesser and death due to respiratory diseases were lesser by 20 percent.
The mortality rate of women was 8 percent lesser, and 10 percent lesser in terms of cardiovascular diseases and 38 percent lesser in terms of Alzheimer’s disease.
At the same time fried fishes did not have any relation with men’s mortality rate. There was surge in mortality risk through different causes including cardiovascular or respiratory diseases.
There were 15 percent and 18 percent lesser likeliness of cardiovascular disease by consuming omega-3 fatty acid in men and women respectively.
