Soon the subordinate courts in TN to have this superb communication facility

The communication technology has developed tremendously in the recent years is well known. Video conferencing is being used these days and this is making hot news.  It is now revealed that the subordinate courts in the state of Tamil Nadu would have video conferencing facility. An amount of Rs 22.83 crores has been allotted for procurement of 233 video conferencing equipments and accessories in 233 court complexes in TN. On Wednesday, a petition from Mr. H. Ramakrishnan came up for hearing and the state home department has filed an affidavit before Justice Mr. H. Raja.

It must be noted that the petition from Mr. Ramakrishnan sought for the direction to implement the order of the SC dated 9th March 2017, to issue instructions to all district courts to access the video conferencing facilities. Mr. Ramakrishnan has been residing in London and there is a matrimonial dispute between him and his wife. Since he could not attend the family court proceedings from London often, he sought for a direction to the Cuddalore family court to avail video conferencing facility.

The department filed the affidavit and stated that on July 4 2018, as per the directions of SC the state government has allotted money for procuring 233 video conferencing equipments and accessories covering 32 districts in TN in 2 phases.

An amount of Rs 11.41 crores has been allotted for the financial year 2018-19 and amount of Rs 11.41 crores has been allotted to 233 court complexes for 32 districts in TN for 2019-20.
