Weather Forecast for the week in India from August 20 to August 26

Let us take a look at the weather forecast for the week:

This week is going to see two Monsoon weather systems in Bay of Bengal. However, towards the end of this week stage is going to be set for the withdrawal of Monsoon from extreme western parts of Rajasthan.

South India

Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on August 20 and August 21. Scattered rains will occur over Coastal Karnataka as well. Tamil Nadu will remain dry and warm throughout the week. In Kerala, relief is in sight from the ongoing flood conditions as only light rainfall activity will occur over the state of Kerala during this week.

North India

The plains on North India will witness patchy activity with isolated light rains and cloudy sky during the first half of the week i.e. till August 22, excluding East Rajasthan region. in fact, the hills will also observed light rainfall. On August 23 and August 24, moderate rains with few heavy spells are expected over Delhi-NCR, Haryana and North Uttar Pradesh. Rains will ease out over all the places of North India by the end of this week, making the weather conditions warm.

Central India

The central parts of India will witness good rainfall activity during this week, barring the state of Gujarat. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh till August 22. Few places in Gujarat may also receive light rain. Thereafter, subdued Monsoon activity will be experienced in parts of central India.

East and Northeast India

Northeast India will underperform as only scattered light to moderate rains will be observed over all the states. Meanwhile, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal will experience on and off light to moderate rains.
