Let us take a look at the weather forecast for the week:
This week is going to see two Monsoon weather systems in Bay of Bengal. However, towards the end of this week stage is going to be set for the withdrawal of Monsoon from extreme western parts of Rajasthan.
North India
Jammu and Kashmir, western parts of Punjab, Haryana as well as North Rajasthan will remain almost dry with isolated light rainfall on a few occasions. Himachal Pradesh will see light to moderate rains while rainfall intensity will be more with some heavy spells over Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh.
Delhi, East Haryana and North Punjab will also see on and off rains in the coming week. Temperatures will remain on the lower side.
Central India
The state of Chhattisgarh is expected to see good rains through the week. Initially, rains will be more over southern districts. Thereafter, central and northern parts may see moderate to heavy rains. Many parts of Madhya Pradesh will receive light to moderate rains until August 29. Thereafter, intensity of these rains will go down but another spell of rain will commence over East Madhya Pradesh around August 30 and gradually almost entire state will start receiving light to moderate rains.
Vidarbha will see moderate to heavy rains on August 27. Thereafter, on and off light rains will continue. Another good spell of rains will commence over Vidarbha around August 31. By September 1, other parts of Maharashtra will also see light to moderate rains.
East Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat will also see on and off light rains throughout the week,
East and Northeast India
Good rains will continue over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh throughout the week. Bihar, Jharkhand, and North Odisha will also get light to moderate rains during the same time. Sub HImalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Northeast India will see light to moderate rains until August 28. Thereafter, rains will once again increase over these areas around August 31. On Sep 1 and 2, many parts of West Bengal will see good rains.
South India
Light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells will occur over Coastal Karnataka until August 29. Thereafter, intensity will reduce. Light rains are likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Kerala will see almost dry weather conditions after 48 hours. Interior Peninsular India will see subdued Monsoon conditions.
