Shrapnel and fragments of the giant meteor, reported to be 55 feet in width, were found in the Ural region in Russia. The rock mass which exploded over the area on Friday injured 1,200 people.
According to Mr. Viktor Grohovsky, Urals Federal University, the pieces seem to have about 10% of iron. The explosion created energy which is said to be 30 times the atom bomb dropped in Hiroshima during World War II.
