On Tuesday night there were mild rains with pleasant weather in Chennai city and this has brought down the temperature. Earlier RMC or Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai had predicted that Chennai and other coastal places would get heavy rainfall on Wednesday as northeast monsoon would be setting on 1st of November. For two more days, heavy rainfall would occur in few places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and this was confirmed by RMC. In Chennai city, the skies would be cloudy and there would be one or two spells of rains or thunder showers in some places. The maximum and minimum temperatures in Chennai would be 30 degree Celsius and 24 degree Celsius respectively.
Mr. Balachandran, who is the deputy director general of Meteorology, expressed his thoughts and spoke about how the conditions in are favourable for northeast monsoon to begin over TN, Puducherry and in the adjoining places of AP and Karnataka in the next 48 hours. The weather expert was of the view that that northeast monsoon would set on 1st of November as there are more chances now. The state of TN would get heavy spell of rains and there would be high tide in the sea. He also warned fishermen against venturing into the sea. Mr. Balachandran later threw light on the light rains that have started along the coastal places of TN from Tuesday. He revealed that from Wednesday the rain would intensity. The temperatures in Chennai city got lowered due to the pleasant weather conditions and on Tuesday Nungambakkam and airport recorded 29.2 degree Celsius and 30.2 degree Celsius respectively. The city of Chennai experienced drizzle to moderate rains.
Chennai city based weather blogger expressed his views and spoke about how things are falling in place slowly for the northeast monsoon to happen. He further added that moderate rainfall would occur in TN in this week.
