New concessions announced for the state government employees applying for leave

The state government of Tamil Nadu has announced certain new concessions for its employees taking leave. The details:

The state government has given permission to take additional incidental leave period for the employees affected by diseases such as chickenpox, measles, swine-fever, plague, and rabies as these are considered to be infectious diseases.

7days’ leave is granted when affected by chickenpox or measles. 6 days’ to 10 days’ leave granted for suffering from swine-fever. 10 days; leave is approved for being affected by the plague, rabies, etc.

In order to avail this concessional leave, the employees will have to obtain a certificate from the health officer of the city/metro city/district health officer.

The leave period taken for adopting a child has bee increased from 180 days to 270 days.

In the case of women government employees giving birth to twins, they will be permitted to take the additional leave as allowed for the 2nd childbirth.

The official government order has been released by the Secretary of the Department of Employees ad Administration Reform, Swarna.
