194 engineering students affected, says HRD Minister

According to Minister of State for Human Resource Department Jitin Prasada, 194 students were affected when 52 engineering institutions were closed between 2011 and 2013. The Minister stated the fact during Question Hour at the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
The institutions were closed due to non conformation to AICTE norms and also due lack of students. Mr. Prasada said that faculty salaries can be adjusted with the deposits made by the institutions with the AICTE.
