In a latest update from Maruti Suzuki India, it is said that the rates of its vehicles under various categories shall see a price hike from next month. This is to offset the effect of uptick in rates of commodities and foreign exchange rates.

The company however leaves no clue as to what range of hike shall be expected. In a note about this, a Maruti official says they are working on the same.

Maruti Suzuki India, in its latest statement, says the company has got badly affected due to the surge in commodity rates and foreign exchange rates. So, we are left with no other way than to pass the impact on the vehicle price which the customers will have to bear with from January 2019.

The increase in rates will vary from each and every model.

As of now, Maruti has vehicles of different price ranges with the entry level being Alto 800 and there are premium crossover S-cross of the range Rs 2.53 lakh to Rs 11.45 lakh.

In its note yesterday, Isuzu Motors India said there will be increase in rates of vehicles by the range Rs 1 lakh starting from January.

To note, there was announcement from Toyota Kirloskar Motor that a price hike will be implemented across its range of products. The price hike will be of the range 4 percent starting from 1st January 2019.
