This is the month of December and it is normal that the temperatures go down. The amazing piece of news is yesterday that is 16th December, Sunday, was the coldest in this month of December. The highest temperature that was recorded was 25.3 degree Celsius. The winds had brought the temperatures down. As per a forecast it is now clear that the gusty or squally winds that were present on Sunday would be on Monday also and these winds would blow at speeds of 45 to 55 kmph.

The temperature of Monday would be brought down by the squally winds caused by the cyclone Phethai. It would be windy and cold and the temperatures would be below 30 degree Celsius. It is now brought out that the city of Chennai would be less likely to get rains as the cyclone has moved away.  There would be light to moderate rain in some places. One important point to note is due to the high winds speeds in Chennai, waves as high as 3m to 3.4m lashed the shores on Marina and Kasimedu on Sunday. The meteorological department had warned the fishermen not to go into the sea as the waves are expected to be stronger on Monday also. It is said that the cyclone would cross the coast between Machilipatnam and Kakinada.
