The government schools have been ordered to conduct model Examinations from January on a daily basis with a view to facilitating better preparation for the student to write the public examination.
As per the Tamil Nadu government syllabus, public examinations are conducted for the classes from 10th Standard to 12th Standard.
The public examinations are set to commence on 1st March.
25% of the private schools have completed teaching of the 10th Standard and +2 lessons and revision is being done on these studied subjects.
However, in government schools, 25% of the syllabus is yet to be taught. With the completion of the New Year vacation, the schools are set to reopen on 2nd January.
The school education officials have been ordered to conduct model examination on a daily basis for the students set to write the public examination and by giving special coaching.
As per the instructions, the model examination has to conducted daily after selecting a few lessons and the answer sheets are to be corrected immediately and inform the students about the performance and the marks obtained. With this procedure, the students will spend more time on preparation by reading extra hours and thus get special coaching and thus prepare better to write the public examinations.
The headmasters/principals must take their own initiative and go forward to execute this plan. Further, recommendations have been to them to utilize the weekend holidays and the spare morning and evening time to conduct extra classes to facilitate the students to prepare better.
Thus, the headmasters and teachers of the government schools have been stressed to put all-out efforts keeping in mind the main objective – it is not the mere ’pass’ in the public exam – it is the aim to score higher marks!
