The central government has informed that a new order has been released to issue the driving licence to the people of the age group 16-18 for electric scooters.
Presently, the budget session is in progress in the parliament. During one of the session, a question was raised in the parliament regarding the issue of licence for driving electric scooters.
A written reply was made on behalf of the central department of Road transport. It is mentioned:
‘Rules and Regulations already exist to issue the licence for those who have completed 16 years of age to drive electric scooters with engine capacity below 15 ccs, However, nowadays, such scooters are not manufactured.
So, a new Government Order has been released to issue licences to the people in the age group16-18 to drive electric scooters of 4 Watts capacity or bikes.
