The practical examinations for the +1 students, as a part of the public examinations, is scheduled to commence tomorrow (Wednesday, 13th February).
The public examinations for the students of 10th Standard and +2 classes are already in progress. Earlier, as there was no public examination system for the +1 class, most of the private schools took it lightly and did not each as per the syllabus for +1. In order to overcome this issue, the system of public examination was introduced for the +1 classes as well from the academic year 2017-18.
In the current academic year, the public examinations for +1 classes are scheduled to commence on 6th March. Over 8 Lakhs students are participating. The practical examinations are set to start tomorrow (Wednesday, 13th February).
Accordingly, practical examination centres have been set up in all major schools throughout the state of Tamil Nadu on the educational district basis.
The senior grade teachers for other schools are being deployed as the invigilators. The State Examination Department has strongly instructed that these practical examinations should not be conducted just for the nominal sake but with the main aim of the students learning about the laboratories and the Laboratory equipment.
Further, coaching classes on the practicals have already been conducted for the +1 students. As such, the practical examinations for the +1 classes will be conducted until 22nd February.
