What is the procedure to apply learners license?
There are two main ways of getting your learner’s license.
· Online method
· Offline method
Below is a brief on both so that you can compare and decide which one is economical.
Online application process for learner’s license
As government processes have become a lot easier with technological facilities, the RTO websites functional in our country let you apply for learner’s license online. The application procedure however differs from one state to the other. Basically, the fundamental procedure of applying is as follows
Click open the official website of state transportation.
You will have an application form which would require your basic details such as name, father’s name, geographic location including district and city, postal code, Aadhar details, etc. Fill out the needed information.
The application will also demand your soft copies (scanned copies) of your address proof and age proof. Note that there are a few state transport websites where you will be asked to choose a preferred time slot to take up the learner’s license test while a few others will have not such option, but only the application submission option with the nearest RTO. In case you have the option to schedule a specific slot for your test, you will then have to pay online for the license. And the payment receipt will be sent through email. This has to be provided at the time of taking up the test. Now that you are done with application process, go on and take up the learner’s license test on time.
Offline application process for learner’s license
For those who are unable to make online process, you may take up offline process. There are a few state transport departments that do not provide online process. In such cases, you will have offline process which involves applying through RTO office.
Here is the step by step procedure for the same:
Obtain the application form from RTO office
Fill the form with all the required information along with your passport size photo and other necessary documents.
Provide the necessary address proof and age proof
Seek the n nearest RTO office and provide the filled application form attached with the documents needed
Request the RTO officials to fix a schedule to take up the learner’s license test at a particular date and time.
Take up the test in the scheduled date given by the RTO officials
Once you pass the test, you should wait for receiving the learner’s license to your home (permanent address)
