The central budget is scheduled to be presented to the parliament today (Friday, 5th July).
This is the 1st full budget to be presented by the ruling BJP government after being elected to govern the country for a 2nd time!
The budget will be presented by the Central Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman today (5th July) at around 11.00 AM.
Nirmala Seetharaman stands to get the pride of place being the 1st ever woman central minister to present the budget!
During the election campaign, BJP had offered several promises to the voting public. It is gathered that the budget will accordingly contain features enabling implementation of these promises. Especially, features such as raising the upper limit for the payment of Income Tax, higher allotment of funds for fields such as agriculture, Health, and Social Welfare, etc., are expected.
With consideration to improve the scope for the economic growth especially as it had come down to 5.8% in the 1st 3 months of the year 2019, it is expected that higher funds will be allotted to the departments concerned with infrastructure development such as Railway and National Highways.
It is further expected that announcements would be made regarding the activities to be initiated to give further impetus to the economic growth in the next 5 years of the central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This would be the 2nd budget to be presented in this year. Earlier, the central minister Piyush Goyal had presented the interim budget. After that, the parliamentary elections were conducted. Subsequently, with BJP voted to power for the 2nd time, the 1st full-time budget is being presented.
