Kumbabhishekham at Thanjavur temple on 1st February!

Thanjavur district administration has officially announced that the sacred ‘Kumbhabhishekham’ ceremony at the Thanjavur Big Temple is scheduled on 5th February.
The Kumbhabhishekham ceremony had been performed earlier at the Thanjavur Big Temple on 3rd April 1980 and 9th June 1997. So, now after a gap of 23 years, the activities for Kumbabhishekham is in progress.
A review meeting was conducted on the progress for the arrangements for the major event of Kumbabhishekham presided by the District Collector Govinda Rao on 14th December (Saturday).
During this meeting, the Thanjavur District Collector Govinda Rao announced that the holy event of Kumbhabhishekham at the Thanjavur Big temple will be performed between 9.00 AM and 10.00 AM on 5th February, The Purvanga Pooja will be performed from 27th January at 9.00 AM till 1st February.
