Industries in TN to open in the Green zones

The industries in TN have been closed now for the purpose of containing the spread of Corona virus problem. The latest news is the industries in TN might open in the Green zones in the districts. The date of reopening of the industries is not yet decided.

On Wednesday, 29th April 2020, chief minister of TN, Mr. E. Palaniswamy hinted about the staggered exit from the lock down situation. A day before the nationwide lock down ends, on 2nd May 2020 the cabinet would meet and decide the date if reopening of the industries in TN.

It is now mentioned by some sources that after the permissions are in place to restart the operations few days would be needed. Getting the factory ready overnight would not be possible and it needs few days of preparation before the staffs go inside the factory. Nod from the government is awaited now and this was as per auto parts maker. Detailed reports on the industries would soon be provided by the collectors of various districts in TN and the industries would be opened in a gradual manner.

By tomorrow, 1st of May, the reports should reach the government. On Thursday, a presentation would be made to the chief minister of TN and the panel formed to work out exit strategy would make this presentation. Cabinet note would be put up based on this presentation.

Green zones are places where none has tested positive for Corona virus. This has been according to the centre. In TN, Krishnagiri is the only district that has not seen a single Corona virus positive case also. It is important mention that for the purpose of industrial activity the geographical unit to determine a green zone would be the block in the rural places and corporation or municipal zones in the urban places.
