Vaisakhi Visakam 2013

The festival Vaikasi Visaka is observed on the day when the asterism Visaka (Libra) rules in the month of Vaikasai, also called Vaisakha.
It is a full moon day and Dharmaputra, the god of death, is worshipped. The day is also said to be one on which god Subrahmanya incarnated in this world, making it doubly important and meritorious.
All Lord Muruga Temples there will be 10 day Brahmotsavam Vasantha Thiruvizha with Flag Hoisting (Kodiyetram).
Vaikasi Visakam is celebrated on May 24, 2013 (Friday). The timing of Visaka Natchathiram is from 12.20 am to 10.35 pm.
In Thiruparangundram Annual `Paal Abhishekam` to Lord Shanmuga will be held on Friday morning from 9am to 2pm at Kambathadi Mandapam Visaka Koradu Mandapam.
