To equip students with programming skills for IT jobs etc- IIT-M launches an online programming course now

Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Digital Skills Academy has now introduced programming as well as advanced programming courses for the benefit of the students. These courses would play a huge role in equipping the final year engineering students and graduates with programming skills through industry professionals in a hands-on way. By this, the students would be made ready for the internships plus for IT based jobs.

This programming course would be opened to any student across India and it would help the students in the job search in IT industry and IT services in all core manufacturing and design fields.

For practising programme in real-time, along with the online sessions the course is being offered through AI platform and this would provide the students coding and self assessment environment.

Three months of actual working experience:
It is now revealed that the 120 hours of programming course would help the students and professionals to get experiential learning equivalent to about 3 months of actual working experience in each of these courses. The students would be made ready for the jobs.

For a career in the IT sector, all the students plus working professionals would be able to register in this programme and they could get benefited.

Certificate after completion of programming course:
For those students who successfully complete the course, a formal certificate would be given by the trainer and knowledge partner – The Centre for Continuing Education IIT-M.

As per Professor Mangala Sundar, founder and coordinator of the academy, the aim was to provide necessary skills towards employment and re-skilling the graduate students from various Indian academic institutions and employees in multiple industrial sectors. He explained about the importance of these programming courses and said these courses would make the students job ready. Important piece of information is that these courses would also make the students prepare well for many competitive exams especially in the banking and finance sectors. This would be made possible by the trainers who would cover multiple areas through large problem sets. It is known that the Digital Skills Academy is a joint venture between IIT-M and Nasscom IT- IT enabled services sector skill council of India.
