The revised time interval for the second dose applicable to only Covishield vaccine

It is now mentioned clearly by the DPH that the revised time interval for the second dose is applicable only to Covishield and not to Covaxin.
Dr. T.S. Selvavinayagam, director of Public Health has written a letter. In the letter, he has given instructions to all the deputy directors of health services, city medical officer, GCC to circulate the revised dosing interval for Covishield to all deans, CMOs, block medical officers, private vaccination centres etc. It was mentioned by DPH that the protection gets enhanced if the second dose is administered between 6 to 8 weeks of time but not later than the stipulated 8 weeks.
