700 special buses transporting public from Chennai to their native places for Vinayakar Chathurthi festival!!

The festival of Lord Ganesha has come and it is the time for happiness and joy!!

Every year, on this Vinayakar Chathurthi day many go to their hometowns or native places in Tamil Nadu to be with their families and friends. In this year, there are 3 days of consecutive holidays and this has made many from Chennai to go to their native places.

For the sake of the public, 700 special buses were operated for transporting the people from Chennai to various parts belonging to Tamil Nadu. It must be noted that there was a huge rush at the Koyambedu, Perungalathur and Tambaram bus stands. Not only the bus stands, important railway stations in Chennai like Central station and Egmore station were overcrowded as people wanted to go to their native places. According to a top official belonging to the transport department it was clear that yesterday 1.50lak people left Chennai for their hometowns for the Vinayakar Chathurthi festival holidays. He added that adequate buses would be operated for the people to return back to Chennai after the festival.  It is worthy to note that Vinayakar or Ganesh Chathurthi is an important festival of Hindus and the festival celebrates the arrival of Lord Ganesh to the earth from Kailash.
