Surprising information about the number of persons who have left Chennai now!!

The festival of deepavali and Pongal are the 2 biggest in the state of Tamil Nadu. To celebrate this upcoming deepavali more than 2 lakhs have left Chennai to their native places across Tamil Nadu.

The official release has confirmed that the state transport department has operated nearly 4785 buses in the last 2 days to transport people. On Wednesday, another 3500 odd buses would be departing from Chennai to various parts in Tamil Nadu.

For this deepavali festival, 1.05 lakhs people have booked their tickets. Through reservations alone, the state transport corporations have earned Rs 5.4 crores through reservations. At various places in Chennai city, a total of 12 booking counters have been set up now.

It is learnt that those who want to book their tickets could either log on to the official website www.tnstc.in or they could use mobile apps like Red Bus etc also.

In recent times, there were many complaints regarding the omni bus operators demanding huge amounts for tickets from the passengers. Mr. R.S. Rajakannapan, transport minister mentioned that strict action would be taken against these private bus operators if they overcharge the passengers.

It must be noted that the transport minister had interactions with the passengers to get feedback about the facilities. He and other senior officials belonging to the transport department inspected Koyambedu Bus Terminus yesterday.  Information is that the buses are being operated from various locations like Madhavaram, K.K. Nagar, Tambaram MEPZ, Poonamallee and Koyambedu.
