Water will be released from Aliyar Dam

Water from the Aliyar Dam will be released on Monday. The move comes in the wake of an order by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa.
‘Around 6,400 acres of irrigation land in Pollachi will benefit from the release, besides fulfilling the drinking water needs of residents in Pollachi town, Coimbatore district’, said an official press release.
