Central board of Secondary Education is about pass a bill which would allow the private matriculation schools to convert to CBSE without the need of the state government no objection certificate. Following this, more than 100 schools have decided to go out of the governance of the state board.

K R Nandakumar, secretary of Tamil Nadu nursery, primary, matriculation and higher secondary schools association says that matriculation schools have to deal with a lot of problems like fee fixation and are controlled by various regulations of the state government. So they are all waiting to go under the CBSE control.  Further he adds that CBSE system is very good than state board as it gives academic freedom and administrative autonomy. Also, CBSE allows the students to think while the state still believes in rote learning.
