57 CCTVs and six police booth soon at Chennai airport

After the two kidnapping incidents taken place in the porticos, the Chennai airport authorities have taken steps to improve the pro passenger security. Six police booth will soon be erected at both international and domestic terminals. 57 surveillance cameras will be kept at the entry, exit gates and on the outer premises of the airport.
The vehicle which enters the airport will be monitored till it exits. The local control room will monitor through the 57 cameras, besides this the city police control room will also monitor visuals captured. This initiative will enhance the passenger security and will also increase the whole premises security. Further, this step is essential as Chennai is the recent target of many terrorist groups.
